Funtime in the Snow!

Our first snowy day was an all day process. It took all day for us to get about a foot of snow. Emilee would ask all day long if it was time to go out and play in it yet. I finally told her that the next day would be a sunny day and that it would be a little warmer to play in it. So the next morning right when she woke up she asked me if it was time to play outside yet. I told her that after breakfast I will go out with her and play for a little bit. We had a blast sliding down the front lawn on a sled and then making snowballs to throw at each other. Then she wanted to go to the backyard to play with our dog Simba. She thought it was fun to throw snowballs at simba while simba just sat there and let her do it. Then it was time to try and build our first snowman. I hadn't done this in forever, but it was so much fun doing this with Emilee. I couldn't believe how well the snow was sticking together as we rolled our three big snowballs to make the snowman. I didn't have any buttons for the eyes so we used raisins.=0) I had a carrot for the nose, but it wouldn't stick in the snow so we used raisins for that too. It was hard to keep the raisins on with both Simba and Emilee wanting to eat them. Oh well, that was the fun of it all. After we finished the snowman Emilee was beyond excited to see it all done. She thought it was funny that the snowman was as tall as her and that he was wearing her snow hat. Then Emilee decided that she wanted to roll around in the snow and make some snow angels. It was such a joy to see her have so much fun. I was amazed that she was able to stay outside for about 2hrs before complaining about being cold, but we had a great time together. This year was Emi's first year for her to really enjoy the snow and play in it. She also enjoyed eating the white snow after I told her it was okay to taste. I made sure she knew to only eat the white snow and not any other color. She thought that was funny. We haven't had any snow since this snow in early November, but Emilee can hardly wait for the next time there is enough snow on the ground for her to play in once again. She gets very excited when she sees the snow falling, but just hopes that it will stick on the ground for her to be able to play in it.
